Company Overview: Natural Capital is a high growth, Arkansas based firm focused on private investments in real estate and growth companies. Founded in 2019, the firm currently operates two funds with $217M in assets under management.
Job Description: Ideal candidates are hard-working and highly motivated self-starters. The Controller will manage the day-to-day financial activities for the Natural Capital managed funds and related entities and investments of those funds.
Responsibilities:
Fund Administration – Oversee all tasks outlined in the professional services agreement with the firm’s outsourced fund administrator to ensure they are completed accurately and within the necessary timeframes; ensure Natural Capital funds and related companies complete all necessary financial and administrative tasks.
Financial Reporting – Work alongside the firm’s outsourced fund administrator and outsourced accounting firm to ensure accurate financial reports and timely bill payments.
Regulatory Compliance – Support the Chief Compliance Officer and Operations team in ensuring Natural Capital and related companies remain in compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
Audit / Tax – Work alongside the Operations team and independent audit firm to ensure Natural Capital and related companies complete the necessary annual audits, tax filings, and distribution of tax statements (K1s, etc.).
Treasury – Work alongside the Operations team to ensure cash is managed appropriately.
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant work experience in the financial sector (accounting, banking, or similar).
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, with a business related major.
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel.
Experience with the Microsoft 365 suite of products including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical skills with a high degree of detail orientation.
Strong communication skills with high degree of professionalism and diplomacy.
